food on
the big island
1.
Kalikala Cuisine
Kona | brunch
This was our first stop for food when we made it over to the Kona side from Hilo!

2.
The Magic Pineapple Shack
hilo | dessert
It is most definitely as good as it looks. This soft served combo called the Unicorn Swirl is a mix of Ube and acai flavored ice cream, perfectly placed in a fresh pinapple bowl. There were some wackyyy menu options at this spot, you'd need days to try them all!

3.
Pineapples Restaurant
hilo | pineapple drinks
We definitely went purely for the pineapple drink and was pleasantly surprised with the option of getting a flight of pineapple drinks as well!

4.
Booch Bar
hilo | kombucha and food
Suuuuper good kombucha options, and a variety of healthy foods on the menu. Felt like a solid place we went to a couple times over.

5.
Kamana Kitchen
hilo | Indian food
Maybe I just hadn't eaten Indian food in a long time, but I'm telling you this was the best Indian food. When we first got in to the Big Island, this was our first stop for dinner, and boy did it hit the spot. It wasn't until we visited the Kona said that we saw Kamana Kitchen has a location on the west side too! I'm craving it now as I reminisce.

6.
Two Ladies Kitchen
hilo | mochi balls
I love squishy desserts, and these Mochi balls were beyond perfection. They came in a variety of flavors- my favorite being the oreo stuffed one. And oh my gosh the last photo- dessert pictured: i'm not sure the name. But it was incredible. Every food spot in Hilo we visited a couple times over, it was so dang good.

7.
Vibe Cafe
hilo | vegan food
Vibe Cafe was my first introduction to bomb vegan food. We came here to eat at least three different times- every time ordering the vegan nachos made with jackfruit. SO GOOD. In the middle photo we got pizza, and i got the coolest glass of chocolate milk paired with chocolate chip cookies.

8.
Hilo Tavern
hilo | tavern
This place was a hoot! And exactly that. A great spot for tall beers, live music, and good ole bar food.

9.
Sakura Sushi & Grill
hilo | sushi
I WISH I had taken more photos of this sushi boat and everything else we ordered. Great, great spot we discovered toward the end of our time on the Big Island.

10.
The Temple Bar
hilo | wine bar
Another spot I should have taken a million pictures at. GREAT food, and super cute vibes. Locals hanging at the bar and a few different tall tables. We ordered so many different appetizers and drinks. Pricey, but great yummy options to share.

11.
Huggo's
kona | sunset dinner
You can already tell by the photos- this place did not disappoint! Dessert was out of this world, mushrooms plate was deliciousss and the atmosphere was so fun to be along the water in Kona oh and the cocktails of course were a sure win.

12.
Yoon's Kitchen
hilo | Korean food
Another spot I needed to save photos of the food cause it definitely hit the craving for Korean food perfectly.
